Dr. John T. Hoehn is a native of Gainesville, Florida and has been actively practicing quality patient care locally for over 20 years. Dr. Hoehn earned a Bachelor of Health Science Degree from The University of Florida and The College of Health Related Professions at Shands Medical Center. After earning his Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine with Honors from Life University, he began his private practice specializing in Orthopedics and Rehabilitation. He has also completed postdoctoral education earning a Diplomate degree in both Clinical Orthopedics and Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine from National University of Health Sciences.
Additionally, Dr. Hoehn has had the honor of serving with the State of Florida from 2001-2008 as an Examiner for the Board of Chiropractic Medicine. Currently, he is serving as an Examiner for the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners. He has also actively worked as an Internship Preceptor for the University of Florida since 2000, helping train students in the field of healthcare.
Dr. Hoehn is Board Certified and a Fellow of the American Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedists (D.A.C.O.), The American College of Chiropractic Orthopedics and the Academy of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (F.I.A.N.M.), each of which required further schooling and testing. These certifications mean that he has a far better understanding of the field of neuromusculoskeletal medicine/orthopedics than your general D.C. Dr. Hoehn has also been affiliated with the Veterans Administration Hospital since 2000. He is certified to perform clinical/medical acupuncture and is a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Acupuncture. Dr. Hoehn is workers’ comp certified and certified to perform physical impairment ratings.
Chiropractic Orthopedists are Chiropractic Physicians who are licensed to practice clinical orthopedics in all 50 states, Canada and many other countries of the world. In order to achieve this title Dr. Hoehn had to complete a rigorous examination process after three additional years of schooling in order to prove his mastery in the field of orthopedics. The Chiropractic Orthopedist is often used by medical practitioners for referral consultation, by the legal profession and insurance industry for evaluation and treatment of patients, and the courts for giving expert testimony.
The Chiropractic Orthopedist has extensive, specialized training in examination and treatment procedures emphasizing primarily the neuromusculoskeletal structures of the body including the spine and the extremity joints as well as the related soft tissues. This involves conditions affecting bones, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, cartilage and related nerve structures.
